Choosing the right London hotels, when planning for the trip of a lifetime, is easier than you may think. Each area in London has certain uniqueness, a special ambience. Examining what activities and sites appeal to you, and what type of vacation you desire will allow you to locate a quality hotel in just the right spot of London. Staying in “The City,” which is the financial district of London, has numerous advantages.
Victoria hotels offer easy access to the underground railway and coach stations. British Airways Terminal and the Gatwick Express both serve Victoria as well. Ease in accessing some of the best public transportation in the world makes the London hotels in this part of town a wise choice. Besides being an economical way to get about, London public transport is efficient, modern, well run, and gives you a taste of London that will linger in your memories for a long, long time.
Another reason for choosing a stay in the may be to mix business and pleasure. What better way to conduct business, staying at a hotel located in the “Financial Capital of the World,” and also to be able to take a leisurely stroll to a museum or historical sport after your business day is complete.
If you prefer a quiet location, Victoria hotels are an excellent choice. Allowing you to easily access the much busier nightspots of the city by public transport, the London hotels in “The City” provide a quiet and restful evening when you choose to call it a day. You will not have to miss the nightlife or the excitement of staying up until the wee hours of the morning; you can easily travel to where nighttime celebrations are the norm. However, your hotel base, your place where you ease back for a peaceful sleep, will afford you a calm spot to unwind.
Another advantage of staying in the Victoria area is the ease in which you can visit some of the major spots of London just by taking a walk. Besides being able to access all of the major transports of the city from these London hotels, walking is a viable option for visiting several noteworthy sites. Buckingham Palace, one of the most well known London attractions, is within a half mile (also known as a “short kilometer,”), an easy distance to walk and breathe in all that is the flavor and feeling of London itself.
Serving as the Queen’s official residence, the 775-room Palace is used for official events and receptions. There are also areas of the Palace, which are opened to visitors on a regular basis. The staterooms, for example, are usually open during August and September, and display some of the works of the greatest painters in the world, including Rembrandt, Rubens and Vermeer. In addition to sculpture and porcelain, these rooms also hold examples of English and French furniture of the highest quality. You may want to check in when you arrive at your London hotel to see what parts of the Palace may be toured, or even better, check the internet before leaving on your trip for the latest updates.
By walking a short distance in the same direction, to the south bank of the River Thames near Blackfriars Bridge, a visit to the Tate Modern Museum lets a person view some of the most famous as well as the most current and cutting-edge modern art in the world. Created in 2000 by converting an unused power station in the heart of London, The Tate collection of modern and contemporary art represents all the major movements since Fauvism, which dates back to1905. The Tate collection includes important masterpieces by such greats as Picasso and Matisse. It also holds an outstanding collection of surrealism, including works by Dali, Miró and Ernst, as well as Pollock and Rothko. There is even a single room, known as the Tate Rothko Room, which only holds nine Seagram murals by Rothko. Tate’s focus on pop art is solid and includes major works by Lichtenstein and Warhol. The museum’s acquisition and display of world-class contemporary art beginning in the 1980’s and running to the current day is appreciated by modern art enthusiasts of all ages.
From the Tate Modern, a short walk across the pedestrian Millennium Bridge brings a London visitor to Saint Paul’s Cathedral, a spot especially breathtaking at night with strategic lighting outlining its dome against the night sky. This spectacular building reminds us that London continues to offer some of the most memorable photographic opportunities of any city, with even amateurs able to return home with stunning pictures.
The current Saint Paul’s Cathedral is the fourth to occupy the site and was designed by Sir Christopher Wren. It was completed in 1710 after the previous cathedral was destroyed in the Great Fire of London. Besides its grand architecture and overall presentation, it holds beautiful mosaics from the mid-19th century, created in response to Queen Victoria’s negative comment that the interior of the cathedral was “most dreary, dingy and un-devotional.” The Cathedral is active to this day, and you may want to check on special presentations or events being held at the time of your visit.
Selecting the right London hotels, such as those located in the Victoria area, will result in one of the most enjoyable vacations you can imagine, making it easy to add business to your journey. The restful evenings allow a visitor superb sleep, while the location affords easy access, on foot or by public transport, to some of the most beautiful and historical sites of this city.
When Londoners speak of The City, they are referring to the original square mile that is now the British version of Wall Street. When visitors speak of staying in this same area, they are referring to London hotels that allow them to partake in an affordable world-class vacation, which may include business, in one of the greatest cities of the world.

In every home, you would notice something nice. It does not matter whether it is a painting, sculpture or décor. Homeowners, especially those with children, want to make their house a special one because this is where the kids will grow up. Putting some wall art sculpture is one thing most people consider nowadays. At least they can maximize the space on top of the walls that they could not reach.
People just love to have something different in their house. They would even go great lengths just for them to acquire or have that one thing that they like especially if it is personalized. The nice thing about custom-made items is that you have the assurance that you are the only one who has it. You can put your face or picture in these things for others to see that this is really yours. There are times wherein you have to shed out quite a fortune because of the customization. It seems that people do not care about the money involved. What they are more concerned about is the time they will be able to get their personalized item.
For people who love sculpture and love to personalize the things inside their home, they can always ask someone to help them out in the wall art sculpture that they want. They can have their face in the sculpture or their body. They can even have their picture imposed here. Even a family portrait with a little twist is one thing that you can do. Anything related to your family or what you want can become a sculpture.
Not everyone can afford to have his or her own art sculpture. They could always improvise and try to make their own art sculpture. They can do this by making a paper mosaic or similar art pieces. In making these things, there is no right and wrong move. Everyone is entitled to his preference on what he wants to do with his materials. He can even combine one or more art technique to come up with a unique masterpiece that he can be proud. It is not every people get to enjoy this one of a kind experience that they can cherish for the rest of their lives.
Wall art sculpture is one of the many things that you can do to have a more personalized home. Even though the sculpture is quite expensive, you know that every cent is worth it because this is what you want. In addition, you know that you are the only one who has such sculpture, which makes it priceless. The important thing here is that you got what you want. For a few minutes, just try to enjoy the beauty that is before you. Do not try to think about the effort and money spent in order for you to have this one. You know that everything is all worth it because you see that others admire the sculpture too and plan to have their own version of it. Be happy and contented with these things while it lasts.

Adding colours and elements to the wall of your home could give it uplift like you could never imagine. It brightens up and adds a certain amount of life to plain walls. There are various ways in which you can achieve this. You could add elements like a few small wall shelves to house some knick knacks, you could create a 3D effect by adding a small alcoves in the wall itself or you could hang up some really interesting pieces of art. If you choose to go with this option, modern metal art wall décor might be a good idea to explore.
Styles of modern art
Most modern art can be put into one of the following categories: Conceptual art, Abstract Art, Pop Art, Op Art, Surrealism, Cubism, Futurism and Dadaism. All of these categories have distinct features that define them. However all modern metal art need not fall into these groups. This style of art is merely an expression of an artist’s perception of the world around him. Therefore modern metal art wall décor can pretty much anything that falls into the modern movement.
Tips to picking up a piece of wall décor that is ideal for you home
You might think that picking up art is a very difficult and sometimes intimidating activity. This is hardly true, especially of modern metal art. Most modern art has a very strong abstract element in it and this is what makes it blend in with your home whatever the elements might be. What you need to remember is that modern metal art wall décor has a lot of similarities to fashion. What might seem trendy today might be gone tomorrow. Therefore choose wisely. A mix of classic and trendy pieces should be a good choice. Also remember not to get carried away with what the general consensus might be. Pick a piece that YOU like and will fit in the place that you have planned for it.
Gifting modern metal art wall décor
Modern art would be an ideal gift for a friend’s home as it is so versatile that it will look good in any environment. The abstract nature of this kind of art is what gives it this quality. It can look good in a home that is done up with a classic look or even in a trendy modern home.

The recognition of Vietnamese art in the history of the world is relatively new, rather it’s better to say that Vietnamese art has emerged from the abyss of darkness and come to face the light of the world! It cannot be claimed that the inception of Vietnamese art is a very recent event in world history. But one important reason for its late recognition lies in the conception of most art patrons who considered Vietnamese art as a mere replica of Indian and Chinese paintings. It’s of course, undeniable that both these civilizations imposed tremendous impact on Vietnamese culture and tradition, but Vietnamese art has been highly successful in evolving itself as an independent art form, with a distinctness of its own. In fact, the greatness of Vietnamese art lies in the fact that it has been able to absorb the impressions of a variety of civilizations and cultures into its own cultural fabric.
Today, Vietnamese art has a distinct and honorable identity of its own. Not just that, this art culture is being widely appreciated worldwide and has been in huge demand by numerous foreign art lovers. Countries like Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Holland, the USA, Argentina have held exhibitions in recent times which bear witness to the immense appreciation that Vietnamese art has received in recent times. Contemporary Vietnamese art possesses a life-like quality and an amazing diversity that has wooed art patrons worldwide. The younger generation of Vietnamese artists is motivated to reaffirm the Vietnamese culture in their works of art. Their paintings have become more self-explanatory and can be said to convey the vision of the artist. Modern Vietnamese paintings portray a unique combination of the artists’ vision and international trends. Contemporary Vietnamese artists do not believe in replicating the masterpieces of their masters. Rather, they are intent on giving new dimensions to this genre.
Among the new breed of Vietnamese artists, the Gang of Five (comprising of the Hanoi painters Hong Viet Dung, Ha Tri Hieu, Dang Xuan Hoa, Tran Luong and Pham Quang Vinh) has succeeded to gain international acclaim through their innovative works of art. Upcoming artists like Tran Trong Vu, Hoang Hong Cam, Nguyen Than, Bui Minh Dung, and Le Quang Ha have breathed in a new lease of life to the erstwhile impressionistic tradition of art. The colorful vibrance of such works of art by Nguyen Trung, Do Hoang Tuong, Tran Van Thao speaks volumes of their abstractionist tradition. The iconoclast Truong Tan turns a corner from his staunch orthodoxy by producing his most unconventional works unraveling his gay convictions. Nguyen Bao Toan, Nguyen Minh Thanh in Hanoi and Le Thua Tien in Hue are among the first “engaged” installation artists to produce in Vietnam. Mention should also be made of Vu Dan Tan, the Sorcerer who turns castoffs into art works; the minimalist Le Thiet Cuong; the unclassifiable Dinh Y Nhi, with her hallucinatory black-and-white paintings, and the instinctive Vu Thang, with his compelling use of mixed media in lacquer painting.
In fact, Vietnamese art has received a tremendous boost on account of this wonderfully talented new generation of artists. No two contemporary artists are alike, neither in their themes nor in their imageries. This versatility has lent contemporary Vietnamese art an added dimension, which is destined to leave an indelible mark on the annals of world history.

Some times during one’s life, we see something that is both fantastic and nearly unbelievable. As many of us, I have seen commercials in magazines, on TV, at the store and seen some most outstanding artwork, especially in photography and even digital photography. Then, one day, I saw something my wife was doing on the computer. She calls it digital collage art work, I simply called it ‘wow’!
It is so fantastic to see her develop her custom digital art work business and to see her truly enjoying herself. Life was not always good to us, but something good was sorely needed. I am handling the stress of being laid off a little better than her. Buying generic products appears to come a little easier to me than her. A little late on the rent is a minor glitch to me, but the end of all good to her, so seeing her loving what she does and that she is contributing to our bills is seriously helping her re-establish her own identity.
What she does is this, take a digital picture of a custom car, custom motorcycle, airplane or boat for that matter, she spends a lot of time removing that vehicle (or person for that matter) from the digital picture and super-imposes it on a new background. Of course, it is never that easy. She messes with the color to make everything match. Makes people’s teeth look like a tooth paste commercial, perfects skin, takes that pearl paint job and makes it actually look on pictures like we see for ourselves. Not like the pictures I have taken, lol.
The short of it is this, if you go to a custom car show and have a simple digital picture generated, with your vehicle on a custom background, you will pay upwards of $200 for each complete picture. My wife doesn’t refuse to do just a simple cut-and-paste for $200, she is truly an artist and generates a piece of art, even with more pictures and super imposing many pictures for that one of a kind picture to hang on the wall at home, she even does it for less.
So if you are looking for that special memorial picture of a loved one, the pride and joy parked in the garage to hang on the best part of the wall at home or an entire advertising campaign, you seriously want to go check out her web site. I never knew what digital collage art work was until I saw my own wife’s digital collage art work.
By the way, have I bragged yet that she was Miss Denmark? I am one lucky son of a, ahem, nice lady!

I am trying to put together some vids for digital tutorials as well as some that talk about the advantage of digital as a medium. But there have been some out there who have had the misconception that the computer somehow “aides” the artistic process in a digital painting– meaning that you cannot “freehand” DRAW this type of thing without the help of the computer. I personally am fascinated by the different perceptions of people who do not seem to truly understand the process.
But here is a raw video excerpt for one of the little “documentaries” I will be editing together soon. The final vid will be examining the digital process as compared to the traditional process. Now, I must point out that I am simply scribbling a make-believe creature’s eye on both digital and acrylic paint. THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO LOOK IDENTICAL. The purpose of doing both of these is to primarily display the fact that they are both freehand, but obviously different mediums. (If I do a colored pencil sketch of something, and then an oil painting of the same subject- they are going to be different… Same scenario).
So anyway— I am posting this video to use the comment section as a forum and I’m inviting all of you to discuss your thoughts and opinions about what you see and how you feel about the digital vs. traditional debate. This is sort of some “research” to help me address certain things in my tutorials and documentaries that I will be creating.
